Sisters

"Sisters" depicts a pair of sister ships at Knight's Seafood in Brunswick, Ga.  When not out plying their trade, these two classic shrimp boats are usually hip tied at the docks along Brunswick's East River.  It's such a favorite spot of mine that it's hard to pass the Brunswick exit off of I-95 to visit.

This painting started life as a demo for a "Working Waterfront" workshop I gave in Treasure Island, Fl in January 2024.  I took it about 75% of the way for the class.  Then I completed it in the quiet of my home studio.  The piece not only features juicy brushwork but the design is built upon an armature in the shape of a giant "7".
